The Justice of the Peace "Elopement Special" Is a simple solemnization of your marriage license, and filing of same, after the event.
It is performed by appointment, in our East Memphis residence; Monday thru Friday during normal business hours. Its perfect for couples who just wish to say "I DO" and become legally married.
The Elopement Special is normally performed with just the bride and groom. We will be happy to provide a witness
We offer the opportunity to make an appointment to come to our chambers, and have us fill out your marriage license for you. We will also file the necessary paperwork with the state after the marriage is solemnized.
This is a quick, casual, and pain-free alternative to being married in front of a group of people. This service is available by appointment,
Monday - Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM The cost is $100, and must be paid in cash. (or certified funds)
PLEASE NOTE:This is a simple solemnization of your marriage. It is NOT a "wedding ceremony" Its great for those who are not desiring a ceremony, and simply want to become legally married.
If you are accompanied by guests, you are limited to no more than four.

License Information:
To obtain a marriage license in Shelby County,Tennessee both parties must appear in person. The age requirement in Tennessee is as follows:
Over 20...Picture ID 18-20..... A Certified Birth Certificate Under 18...Contact the license office for more information. The license fee is $37.50 or $97.50 for ALL APPLICANTS, depending on whether or not you have had premarital counseling. Being a Tennessee Resident is NOT required. Your Tennesse license is good for 30 days prior to your marriage. You can obtain your license in The downtown area at:

Answer: By all means. While we specialize in elopements, we are happy to come to any location you pick, and perform either a Civil, or Religious ceremony. Fees begin at $150.00
